What Market Pulse measures
Instead of switching between a trade tape, an events calendar and a scanner, Market Pulse merges them into a single chronological feed:
- High-volume trade prints — large executed trades with symbol, price, quantity and traded value, so block and bulk activity stands out from retail noise.
- Institutional flow markers — trades at values typically associated with institutional participation (₹1 crore and above), flagged as they execute.
- Day highs, lows and breakouts — symbols making new intraday extremes, which often precede momentum continuation or reversal.
- Volume spikes — unusual traded-volume behaviour relative to the symbol's own recent baseline.
Who uses Market Pulse
- Intraday traders who need to know which NSE stocks are moving right now, not ten minutes ago.
- Momentum traders hunting breakouts confirmed by real traded volume rather than price alone.
- Swing traders checking whether institutional accumulation or distribution underpins a move before committing capital.
- Market observers who want one screen that answers "what is happening in the Indian market today?"

How to read Market Pulse in 3 steps
- Scan the tape for size. Large-value prints (especially ₹1 Cr+) indicate institutional or HNI participation. A cluster of large buys in one symbol is accumulation worth investigating — a cluster of large sells is distribution.
- Cross-check with events. A big print plus a fresh day high plus a volume spike is a far stronger signal than any one of them alone. Market Pulse shows all three together so the confluence is obvious.
- Confirm direction with trend tools. Open the symbol in Market Trend for its LONG/SHORT algo signal, or check Directional Trend for early momentum — then decide, rather than chasing the tape.
Example: three ₹1.2 Cr+ buy prints in TATAMOTORS within minutes, a new day high, and a LONG signal on Market Trend — that confluence is exactly the kind of intraday setup Pulse readers act on, the same morning rather than after the close.
How the data is calculated
- Trade values are price × quantity from live NSE/BSE trade prints, refreshed continuously during market hours (09:15–15:30 IST).
- Volume spikes compare current traded volume against the symbol's own recent intraday baseline — so a spike in a small-cap means something different from a spike in RELIANCE, and Pulse treats them differently.
- Day highs/lows track against the live session range, resetting each trading day.
Limitations to know
- Large prints show executed interest, not intent — a big buy can still be absorbed by bigger supply.
- Outside market hours the tape is historical; pre-open and post-close prints need different interpretation.
- Market Pulse is market intelligence, not investment advice — always combine signals with your own risk management. See our disclaimer.
Market Pulse FAQs
What is Market Pulse on Streetwhacks?
Market Pulse is a unified live feed that combines high-volume NSE/BSE trade prints with market events such as institutional block trades, day highs and lows, volume spikes and breakouts — all on one screen, updating during market hours.
How is Market Pulse different from a normal trade tape?
A normal tape shows every print equally. Market Pulse highlights size (institutional-scale trades), layers in market events, and surfaces confluences — so you see meaningful activity instead of scrolling noise.
What counts as an institutional-scale trade?
Trades at values typically associated with institutional or HNI participation — generally ₹1 crore and above — are flagged as they execute, with symbol, price, quantity and value visible.
Is Market Pulse free?
Yes — a free Streetwhacks account includes Market Pulse with live data. Paid plans add depth, history and related premium tools. Compare options on the pricing page.
Does Market Pulse work for BSE stocks too?
Yes. The feed covers activity across NSE and BSE-listed stocks during Indian market hours (09:15–15:30 IST).
